THE SONG seems to keep getting more and more powerful as it lumbers along forward ,.. and it is indeed propelled by the mighty drumming of Hagins himself !!
"I recorded all of these instruments here myself ,.. I was very experienced in the studio back then in late 1992 and I was working with a guy in Bill Krodel who was a genius at 'capturing a sound". IF A SONG sounded "too tight" or too perfect,.. I remember ,..I might redo the whole thing ,.in order to give it that "disjointed" and "Chaotic" vibe and feel ,. it had to capture total messy anger and relay a force that I was a "totally messed up guy" ( Laughs ) ,..and I was genius at the shit !"
HAGINS would start out at about 2 in the afternoon ,.. at JET CITY SOUND STUDIOS EL SEGUNDO CALIFORNIA with Krodel after the 2 mapped out "ideas" over coffee;
"I would bring in an idea,.. sometimes ,.. I had a little cassette of an 'acoustic version' of the song idea" says Hagins.
1992 would be a hugely productive and prolific songwriting and recording year for Hagins as he wrote and recorded other classics galore such as "Addicted" and "Search And Destroy" etc ,.. but sadly, unfortunately,.. it would also be the last final year for G.e; "I was borrowing money from everyone to record my songs" Says Hagins. "It was just inevitable that my time of ending my musical career was upon me ,.."
Funny Looking Red Head Bassist Rick Carmody provides the bass here - as usual - which was added some 15 days after the rest of the song was already recorded; "I could barely get a hold of that guy ,.. there,..at the end" Says Hagins.. "He would squeeze in a G.e recording session when and "if" he had the time,.. man it was a pathetic ending to what was one of the Greatest ever Bands in Rock ! ,..man , it sucked ,.. "

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE around California and in particular Los Angeles County and the South Bay area ( Redondo Beach , Hermosa Beach , Torrance ) ,.. feel that it is HAGINS and his true knowledge of rock music and like an encyclopedia ,..THAT "He" is the real guy who not only "Invented grunge" but "Perfected it" and deep in the middle of the 1980's with early songs like "Maury A Lad Insane" , "Feel The Soviet Thunder" and "Precarious" ,..
"THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT were the true amazing innovators,..I had this thing all designed and planned long ago and I would mail all my pictures and ideas to the Pro Record Labels OUT in Hollywood from GEFFEN to Capital EMI to RCA and beyond,.. the trouble was,.. I was just a bit way too ahead of my time FOR MY OWN GOOD and the sound of 1980's Glam Metal in L.A was simply too huge of a movement ,.. I couldn't get through the door!" Says Hagins,..
HAGINS says his creativity was fueled by a South Bay three piece punk indie band called "A Noise Agency" and that he would literally "study' their 1985 album "Moms in the Kitchen' ,... "If you really wanna hear where grunge really came from ,..and you want the whole truth of where the music industry got all its ideas,.. well it came from that guy ,.. the lead singer guitar dude from that band !! HE IS THE ORIGINAL KURT COBAIN !! NOT ME !!"
"These guys started the whole sound and concept of the 1990's ,..perhaps I was only the delivery boy" says Hagins.
HAGINS says bands like the Bauhaus, New Model Army, Joy Division, Kraftwerk, Television, The Jam,...and later the JESUS AND MARY CHAIN and the Pixies and the Stone Roses ,..would fuel his ambitions for alternative rock ..
"Before Knac went metal,..it was an indie alternative rock station way WAY BACK in the 1980's and I would listen to it nightly" says Hagins.
